SFN Raises Funds for Father Ray Foundation in Pattaya

Every year, at the Annual Member Meeting, Specialist Freight Networks takes pride in raising money for a local charity. The chosen charity this year was the Father Ray Foundation. This great organisation takes care of 850 orphaned, abused and disadvantaged children and students with disabilities. Click on the image below to watch the video:

Dalia Terret manages the fundraising efforts at SFN and is excellent in her role. Essentially, raffle tickets are purchased so that SFN Members are contributing to the charity, but also able to win some wonderful prizes.

The majority of the prizes are provided by the members themselves; many of them take the care and time to choose a small gift significant to their country, to bring to the event. Additionally, the hotel provides a prize of two free nights' stay and SFN Founder, Kelly Bunyan, contributes the gift of a free pass to the next year's Meeting.

As well as the raffle, SFN holds an 'auction'. This year, Marcus Schlapper from TCI International in Germany very kindly donated a beautiful Mont Blanc fountain pen. Wayne Kruger from Hunter Cargo in Australia won the bidding at $400 - thank you Marcus for the gift and Wayne for your generous bid.

Kelly says: "We here are blessed to be able to travel throughout the world and, as a result, we think it right that we 'give something back' by contributing to the people in need in the local community. I am truly impressed with the generosity that our members show each year. It's wonderful to have been able to help the Father Ray Foundation; they are carrying out such important work here with these beautiful children and SFN is happy to make a contribution to keep that work going."

"I can't thank you and your team enough for the welcome we received earlier this afternoon, it was overwhelming, thank you.

Once we carried all the gifts to the pick-up the children all agreed to hand them in and then select one, so that the others could be divided among the other children. The 'girly' gifts I will be taking to the Village tomorrow morning as we have many young girls who I know will love to play with all those dolls. The Australian toys will be given to the toddlers at the Day Care Center

The money you donated, 106,000 Baht, will be going to our school uniform appeal as we are now in the summer holidays and the children go back to school on the 15th May, and they all need two uniforms, Scout kit, sports wear and a school tunic shirt.

Once again Kelly, thank you very very much."
