SFN Collaborate with Aircargo Africa 2017

AIR CARGO AFRICA 2017 is the mega event set for 21-23 February at Casino Convention Resort, Emperors Palace in City of Ekurhuleni engaging the global air cargo community to explore and strengthen networking corridors with the African Continent.

In its past three editions, the show has seen major participation from world players so also key players from the African airfreight community. Africa is at the apex for being increasingly known as an emerging market and many that have been in the business for years have recognized this event as a platform for effective networking, turning this market into an exciting and absorbing frontier for new opportunities. Air Cargo Africa 2015 gathered a record number of 80 International Exhibiting Companies, 527 global industry decision makers as registered delegates and brought in an impressive number of 2915 trade visitors from across 29 African countries and 32 countries from other continents to explore business prospects. The event garnered a great support from the City of Ekurhuleni, which is home to the busiest airport in Africa, O.R. Tambo International airport which is envisioned to be built into an aerotropolis that will define the future of aviation for Africa. Executive Mayor City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality, Clr. MondliGungubele inaugurated the event.

Once again, STAT Media Group (organizer and a multimodal international transport media) welcomes the unstinted support from the global cargo community, substantiating the event’s significance in adding value to the global trade balance and thereby fostering economic prosperity of the African nations.

SFN Collaborate with Ballast Water Management Conference

The IMO Ballast Water Convention is imminent. On 8th September 2016, Finland announced ratification of the BWM Convention, meaning that the IMO regulation will be enforced from 8th September 2017. Ship owners will be required to implement BWT Systems and a Ballast Water Management plan on vessels. It is estimated that over $45 billion will be spent in the 5 years following enforcement. The cost, installation and operation of BWT Systems is of serious concern to the industry. It is estimated that Finland are due to sign the BWM convention late in 2016 which will see the regulation be entered into force one year later, making the timing of this conference critical.

ACI’s 17th Ballast Water Management Summit will provide essential, expert guidance to ship owner/operators on how to prepare for and manage the BWT Systems in terms of installation and technical operations, as well as advice on compliance, PSC and regulation once the convention is in place.

Following the success of our BWM conference in USA in 2016, we are pleased to announce that we will be returning to provide a learning and networking platform for the US shipping industry on BWM. Special focus will be on the USCG Regulations, US EPA Vessel General Permit, and how Ship owners/managers and BWTS Manufacturers can deal with the regulation in terms of selecting, operating, testing and remaining compliant.
