Both SFN and WFN Members enjoyed a day playing golf whilst in Pattaya, Thailand, for the annual meetings.

Members from both networks headed off to a beautiful golf course; it was the first time that both networks had united for an event.

Professionals in the forwarding world, they also proved to be very dedicated sportsmen and women to get up and leave the hotel at 7.30 am after being out for a late dinner.

Tim Taylor, President of WWLP, USA, kindly arranged this golf day for the members. He said:

"The second annual WFN/SFN Golf outing was held during the recent meetings in Pattaya. This year we had 18 golfers from 6 continents combined from both networks. There was a lot of fun rivalry, jousting and laughter. After a 2 hour rain delay in the middle of our round, we finally finished 7 hours later!

The golf course was spectacular and the service and hospitality of the management and employees was nothing short of excellent! Each golfer was driven in spate golf buggies, with a caddie and guide. The group endured sweltering hot and humid conditions and a course that was very difficult and challenging. I think the group lost between 50 and 100 golf balls during our round. But despite this we had a blast, fun all around.

This year the low score golfer and winner was Oliver Marbach from NOVA Traffic Switzerland, after watching Oliver drive the ball over 300 yards every time his playing companions made him pee in a cup to ensure there was no ILLEGAL enhancing substances in his body... LOL

For the second year in a row Mrs. TS Kim was our low score ladies winner, she is a very consistent player and was out dueled by her husband Mr. TS Kim from OEC Freight of South Korea.

Our BOOBIE prize winner was none other than FIRST time Golfer Maarten Bolten from Lift Freight Services Netherlands.

We enjoyed very much the company of both WFN & SFN Members and the hospitality of Thailand. It truly was a great day. Next year we will be playing in Spain!"

SFN & WFN Managing Director, Kelly Bunyan added, “considering both network meetings are run consecutively, Tim’s idea to arrange a joint golf outing was a wonderful idea. Thanks to Tim for bringing some of the network members together in such a wonderful setting.”
