Maya Freight Ltd, SFN members in Kenya, recently completed the shipment of an Emergency electricity power restoration system from Canada to Kenya.

Justin Omondi, Imports Coordinator, told us more: "We are glad to inform the network that we recently successfully executed 10x20dv containers of emergency power restoration structures and parts.

Our scope of work was local customs clearance and delivery to Kenya electricity Transmission Company Ltd (KETRACO) substation site in Isinya. The site is about 56kms from the CFS-SICD (Syokimau Inland Container Depot) where the containers had been moved by SGR cargo train (Standard Gauge Railway) from the port of Mombasa where the containers were discharged via vessel – MSc Gina Voyage JX22IA.

Details of the shipment:

1. Gross weight of the shipment – 80,563kgs.
1. Cbm of the shipment -200.
2. Port of loading – Montreal Canada.
3. Port of discharge – Mombasa Kenya.
4. Forwarding agent – Xtreme International inc - Canada
5. Destination agent – Maya Freight Ltd.
6. Equipment – 10x20DV SOC
7. Commodity – Emergency electricity power restoration system.
 
At site – As the trucks arrive Armed government security, KETRACO security and maya staff verified the seal numbers on the containers against the Bill of lading to confirm if they tally and thereafter the containers are lifted off the trucks and placed down at a designated yard location using one of our cranes.

We managed to Load all the 10x20 containers, move them to site 56 kms away, mobilize the crane and offload all the containers in less than 10 hours.
